About BIDF
What is BIDF?
The Baskerville Institute Digital Friendship (BIDF) is an initiative from the Baskerville Institute that provides Iranian university students with access to courses from U.S. universities through an exclusive platform. The Baskerville Digital Friendship initiative connects students from Iran and America through online education.
In Iran, where a large percentage of the population is young, online educational opportunities can help to build peace, mutual understanding, and tolerance, and can also foster a sense of community, connectedness, and shared understanding across national boundaries. Young Iranians could be transformed by studying online with teachers and students from the United States. This would allow them to learn about different ways of thinking and perspectives, and promote understanding and respect between people from different nations.
There are challenges involved in providing online education to young Iranians, but by developing innovative teaching materials and partnering with local universities in Iran and educational institutions, these challenges can be overcome. Investing in online education for young Iranians is the most impactful way to build peace.
The Baskerville Institute is a nonprofit organization that promotes amity between Americans and Iranians through education. It has a dynamic management team, a distinguished board of advisors, and a dedicated team of staff and student interns. The Baskerville Institute is the most appropriate organization for implementing the Baskerville Digital Friendship online course initiative for Iranian students, because of its network with Iranian academics and professors inside Iran and its experience with programs that involve Iranian specialists and experts.
